If everything goes according to plan, when this post goes live I'll be sleeping off a long return flight from the 2015 Garden Bloggers Fling in Toronto, Canada.
Andrew joined me on the trip, and if you're a regular reader of this blog you know that means he visited a number of Toronto's bookstores. Doing pre-vacation research he found Type Books and a blog post about their "Traveling Cactus Garden" window display, "an ode to things that grow." Pretty fun right? Hopefully on one of my off days (doing non Fling things) I was able to visit and take photos of my own, just in case I thought I'd share theirs, I hope they do not mind.
Here's what they have to say about it: "Type's window design genius Kalpna Patel took refuge in the warm, green, humid environment of Toronto's Allan Gardens Conservatory all winter long. She found inspiration growing all around her, and the Travelling Cactus Garden was born. Kalpna got to work creating a handmade, three-dimensional paper and cardboard recreation of some of the Gardens' cacti and succulents, and a little imagined plant life too. The Garden will grow and pop up around the city throughout the year, and you can follow it around Toronto at #CactusGardenTO." Nice work Kalpna!
Having trouble reading the titles? There's a list of the books featured in the window display here.
In other garden book news did you see the recent post on Gardenista; Alexa's Library: 9 Favorite Classic Garden Books by Alexa Hotz? She lists some great ones that I've been meaning to check out. With a long hot summer ahead I need to catch up on my reading - after I catch up on my sleep. Lots of Toronto pictures in the days ahead...
