My chartreuse circle pot...

Back when I wrote about my visit to Rare Plant Research I mentioned my Bromeliad purchases were Circle Pot bound. The chartreuse Circle Pot that is.

While I loved my orange Circle Pot hanging from our big-leaf Magnolia, the chartreuse is even better. It's a little understated, less vibrant.

And the Bromeliads lend just the right touch. The tall-ish pair on the left are some sort of Billbergia. On the right are Neoregelia punctatissima 'rubra'...

Those teeth!

The color contrast was a big part of what I loved about this combo. Now I've learned the 'rubra' isn't likely to stay that way under the heavy shade of the Magnolia. Oh well.

The dangly bits are Tillandsia usneoides, aka Spanish Moss.

The orange Circle Pot now lives under the shade pavilion. It's filled with Muehlenbeckia 'Big Leaf'.

The regular old (thugish) Muehlenbeckia axillaris fills my green Gainey Ceramic pot.

And the orange Flango Hover Dish is full of painted ferns.

I've gone from complaining about there being no great hanging pot choices to feeling quite rich...
