Heading home from a meet-up down south of town I realized I had enough time to swing by Gardener's Choice, yay! A nursery visit. The sign is new, and a bit flashy for my taste – but this is a very busy route in the suburbs and if it catches the eye of a passer-by then I suppose it's a good thing.

This nursery has a lot of space devoted to plants that I would refer to as "annual color" not a bad thing but not my taste. It's also where I bought my first Schefflera taiwaniana (before any other nurseries in town had them) and the place I discovered Agave parryi 'J.C. Raulston'– in other words you never know what you might find here.
Love this combination! Schefflera taiwaniana, Aralia cordata 'Sun King' and Ligularia dentata ‘Othello’...

Since I already have two of the three the Ligularia dentata ‘Othello’ was calling out loud to me.

Funny it's being touted for it's "cut flowers"...I would cut these flowers too, and then quickly toss them in the trash. U.G.L.Y.

Moving on we see another hardy Schefflera, this one S.brevipedunculata – getting kind of leggy.

I can't help but stop and stare anytime I see Primula vialii flowers.

I've almost (ALMOST) bought them just for their OMG factor.

And Agave utahensis, yay!

These new Sedum Sunsparkler® are quite beautiful. Of course I am hesitant to fully embrace them but if they keep on looking this good long term then I'm in! I recently bought 3 qty 4" Sunsparkler 'Firecracker' which I love. These are 'Cherry Tart'...

Sedum Marina is also a looker but the tag let me know it doesn't stay short, so no thank you.

I should have taken a few more overall shots but in case you were wondering, this place is huge!

So far I've been good at resisting the allure of the tree Peony. We'll see how long I last. I planted several at my house in Spokane and hated to leave them behind, but I did.

Who cares about the fruit, they've got those at the grocery.

So what did I buy? Well the Ligularia of course.

And it will be going in a container that sits up above the patio, so these fabulous dark undersides of the leaves will be visible to those who linger.
