Wednesday Vignette - best laid plans

As I mentioned on Monday I just returned from a week away. A week away from my garden. In spring. A week that included the longest dry and sunny stretch Portland had seen since November. I wasn't supposed to be gone that week, but being sick caused things to shuffle a bit and that's how it ended up. Best laid plans go awry. Naturally I walked the garden studying ever detail before I left, that's when I spotted the new growth and flower buds on the variegated Daphniphyllum...
