If not for my desire to document, and to keep the Bloomday streak unbroken, I probably wouldn't be posting this Garden Blogger's Bloomday - after all there's nothing new to share. But, the party must go on...
Brugmansia 'Charles Grimaldi'...Brumansia blooms outdoors in December!

Okay, the truth is this plant spent our cold-streak (over Thanksgiving weekend) in the basement. I put it back outside last week when our temps hit the 60's during the day.

I've only ever seen the blooms be this pale yellow color, evidently they "color up" over time and turn that lovely orangey color, above.

You may have heard Portland's been under a nearly constant deluge of strong rainfall for the last 10 or so days - it's been total craziness. When the sun came out briefly I was out there taking these photos faster than you could say "go!" Abutilon megapotamicum 'Red' has wrapped up for the season, but Abutilon Nuabyell is still blooming away.

Eriobotrya japonica (Loquat) continues the show, no signs of fruit developing though.

The Grevillea 'Ned Kelly' gifted to me by the Outlaw is starting to bloom. This stage reminds me of peppermint ribbon hard candy, very seasonally appropriate!

For some reason I didn't bother to photograph the blooms of the Fatsia japonica, or the nearly open ones of the Fatsia polycarpa 'Needham's Lace', but they are both putting on a show.

Finally, one of my Tetrapanax papyrifer is still trying SO HARD to bloom. This is by far the closest I've ever seen it. If the darn rain, and accompanying dark skies, would let up for a bit it might just happen.
