My friend Anna, who blogs at Flutter & Hum, has started weekly posting called: Wednesday Vignette. Her concept is explained here, but can be summed up as a celebration of combinations that inspire. I've wanted to join in the theme for weeks now, but since I don't usually post here on Wednesdays (it's my day to write for the plant lust blog) I haven't. This is the day!
My vignette is, at its most basic level, about this cactus growing in an arching planter; a vintage piece that would have originally been part of a set.
When I found it there was only the one piece, which kind of made me love it even more.
The cactus fingers came later, they seemed like the perfect addition.
The key other part of this vignette is visible in the background here, behind the bigger vase.
When we got our old windows replaced a couple weeks ago we opted for awning windows on the bottom third of our previous picture window. Being able to open them, for fresh air and views, well, we're loving it. The plants are loving the extra light flooding in the new windows.
