The same winter's day that I unintentionally stumbled upon Nancyland for the first time I also discovered this garden, just up the street. So it was somewhat fitting that the warm summer's evening that I officially visited one I got to visit the other...
After admiring the Romneya coulteri.
I entered through the arch...
I've never cared much for Persicaria virginiana 'Painter's Palette' (too busy), but here I loved it.
And the ameranth, wow!
This is a good reminder to move my black calla, it's been years since it bloomed. Too much shade.
Still those leaves are mighty fine.
Walking around the side of the house, not sure what awaits in the back garden...
Tall bamboo!
What a fabulous intimate space. The garage (I think, maybe it was another out building? The memory is a bit hazy) had been converted to a studio and sitting area.
You know I love the dense planting style.
The offerings of gardens open to visit are drying up as the weather turns cool and yes, rainy. Thankfully I still have a few more of my summer garden visits to share!
