This planting is almost unrecognizable to any of us that have visited the Desert Garden at the Huntington Garden in San Marino, CA. While the specimens are sizable, there is so much open space around them, and the pathway so narrow and defined.
I wish there was a date, a post-mark, something that would help me place the era. I did a few searches but came up empty handed.
