Located roughly 30 miles west from home, in the city of Forest Grove, I had not previously visited McMenamins Grand Lodge. That is until an appointment with a specialist took me out that way on a sunny Thursday morning. I'll have photos of the entire garden on Friday's blog post, but today I wanted to share this short, grass-lined pathway dedicated to creature comforts.
The small, often over-looked creatures that is.
Tucked in among the tall grass and it's fluffy seed heads, were these free-form insect hotels and bird snacking stations.
Creative and quite attractive.
The bleached out grass was alive with birds flying in, chirping and moving about. Not that you can tell from my photos, I didn't manage to capture a single one.
Don't you want to reach up and run your fingers through those curly seedy strands?
