Here we are, back on the banks of Oregon's Salmon River in late September. When Andrew asked me if I wanted to go with him I remember thinking about the rain we'd received and figuring the moss—which goes dormant when it's dry—was probably active again. So I said yes.
What I didn't realize was the moss may never go dormant here, it's thick, it's luxurious, and it's very photogenic! Please enjoy these green photos, if they convey even a tiny bit of the beauty I saw that day, well, then I know you'll be in awe...Tomorrow I try your patience and take you back out on the trail to look at the mushrooms...— — —
