Flowers of the Cities, at the NWFG Festival

Fleurs de Villes made its debut at the 2020 Northwest Flower & Garden Festival (held last week/weekend) and there's no doubt people loved it. This lady (outfit by Apotheca Design) was holding court in the lobby...

Out was the festival's usual floral design competition and in was the high fashion of a "Bespoke Flower Event"...

Only one mannequin was in the lobby, the other twelve were in the main room of the convention center, which meant they were under the same dramatic lighting that makes it difficult to take photos of the show gardens. This design was by Flirty Fleurs...

The umbrella design was fabulous.

From Coree Ryan at Zupans Market...

From Ondine

The woven palm fronds were a fun touch.

Garden Party Flowers

The headdress and mask were gorgeous.

I think this was my favorite, from Tobey Nelson.

I believe the dress is made from Leucadendron argenteum leaves.

From Hazel Landscapes + Design

Note the fur sleeve trim on her moss coat...

Nice detail work!

The floral explosion at the base was also very well done.

Unfortunately I missed getting a photo of the team behind this creation, so I cannot credit them.

Leah Erickson Floral is responsible for this revealing dress with the huge floral cape.

And the last mannequin I took photos of is wearing an outfit by Terra Bella Flowers.

While was a Fleurs de Villes was a marvelous collection of talent and creativity I hope it doesn't permanently replace the regular floral competition at the show. It was over-the-top fun, but not something I'd want to see every year.
