I drive by this greenhouse every time I go to the Hardy Plant Society of Oregon office, which is roughly 8 times a year, give or take...
The thing is though, I never have time to stop and take photos. I just look at it longingly and wish it were mine, as I turn the corner and drive on.
But finally! For the December Board Meeting it was still light outside and I was running a little early, truly a Christmas miracle.
Once I was there, walking around the perimeter of the garden, I realized there was more than the greenhouse to love.
Like this Sciadopitys verticillata, aka Japanese umbrella-pine (although it that color normal for winter?).
And those impressive phormium...
So wonderful...
Of course the tall tetrapanax with their (almost) mature bloom spikes were trying to steal the show.
I wish the light had been better, and you could be truly impressed.
As I was...
