When I was in the 4th grade my family moved to a new home and I got to pick out the light fixture and carpet for my bedroom. For the carpet I chose a two-tone pink shag, it looked like someone chugged a bottle of Pepto-Bismol and threw up. I thought of that carpet when I drove by this scene...
The towering magnolia is still covered in blossoms...
Even after dropping enough petals to cover the entire front yard in a thick layer.
The fragrance was powerful, in a good way.
The vignette was all the more dramatic in-person because the other homes on the street had green carpets. Dare to be different.
