While I didn't make it by to check on the Pacific Connections Garden during my late February trip up to Seattle I did manage to stop in at the Pat Calvert Greenhouse at the Arboretum.

Several branches of this Callistemon were arched over and almost laying in the parking lot, no doubt because of the excessive snowfall. All the better to admire the fabulous seedpods.

This Schefflera delavayi was looking a little down-trodden. I'm sure it will perk up once the temperatures do.

Ditto for this one.

There's that elusive Helleborus foetidus. I've found it in multiple nurseries now but never blooming. Such a curious plant.

This Cordyline indivisa looks a little weather-worn, but like it will pull through.

Now to visit the Agaves! But first we have to climb over the dirty glacier.

As you may remember the one on the right bloomed last year (that's it's bent over stalk).

I wonder how long they'll leave this in place?

The one on the left still looks good.

And there are multiple pups.

Clippings protect what I think are Gunnera, maybe there are other plants in there too. The entire arboretum was hit hard by the crazy February snowfall, read about it here, on the UW Botanic Gardens Blog.

The one house with a roof had some treasures on display.

I'm a sucker for a Podocarpus that's colored up for the winter.

And so a 'Blue Gem' came home with me. Only $5 and it turns out I lusted after this plant at the PC Gardens back in 2016 so I feel good about the purchase.

Hebe 'Hinerua', for some crazy reason I passed on this one.

But I grabbed another H. ochracea for only $4, I can always find a place for another one of these...
