Evidently my resolve to "be careful I don't add so much visual clutter you are no longer able to see the plants, for the containers" can be thrown right around the window when that cool container is only $2...

Yes, I purchased the tall rusty tube on the left (above) for just $2, it stands upright no matter what I put in it (and I've tried a few things) thanks to this nifty little base.

I decided for now I'd fill it with the drying Eryngium agavifolium blooms that were flopping all over the place, but I wasn't ready to yet get rid of.

Now about that out of control Grevillea juniperina ‘Molonglo’ on the left, time to get out the pruners...

Weather Diary, Sept 4: Hi 84, Low 52/ Precip 0
The stats are in, if you're interested in such things, and June/July/August will go down as the 2nd hottest summer on record here in Portland. The period of May through August '18 is the driest we've ever experienced.
