The West is on fire and our skies are thick with smoke haze. I got out and took these photos early in the morning, the sun wasn't too high and the haze not too thick. My timing was just right, it got much worse as the day went on. Of course using the smoky haze for photos is make lemonade. I'd rather have blue sky and no fires, no death, no loss of homes, no animals dying...and it not hurting to go outside! (our air quality is in the unhealthy category)
Once again this month my photo order is not based on what might be visually appealing, or where the blooms are located in the garden, but rather the fact I name my photos and thus they upload in alpha order. I hope you won'd find any of these combo's visually alarming.

Gaura lindheimeri, I had two of these plants in the front garden but pulled them both about this time last summer (they annoyed me). I'm not sure if this is a seedling or something come back from a bit of root.

The grafted cactus are such reliable bloomers it's crazy. Of course catching them at this stage is easy, anything beyond is difficult as it's a fleeting moment.
