June 15th, summer (!) and the garden is strutting its stuff (oh I know, summer doesn't technically begin until the solstice next week, but come on, it's summer!). Abutilon Nuabyell is rather floriferous, it makes me quite happy.

Santolina chamaecyparissus 'Lemon Queen' is producing as well.

Callistemon sieberi is winding down, but at least it's still looking good. Callistemon virdiflorous managed to squeeze its bloom cycle in between Bloomdays, it's nothing but expired brown blooms now.

The blooms of Callistemon ‘Woodlander's Hardy Red’ are just opening.

This was an amazing year for the Sarracenia flowers. There are only a few left now, this red bloom will have to represent all the others (the green were my favorite).

The Embothrium coccineum is STILL blooming, it's a powerhouse. Notice the cloudy sky, we're experiencing a cool and cloudy streak before the sun returns to warm us into the high 90's next week. The clouds made for nice photo taking.

This Aechmea (Bromeliad) which I just bought at Rare Plant Research last month is blooming. I had no idea it was fixing to push this out so soon.

Lilium Asiatic Landini, growing in one of the driveway stock-tanks... intended to be used as cut flowers. I've cut one stem, I need to get creative.

One of my Acca sellowiana (pineapple guava) is absolutely covered in buds. The other plant doesn't have a single one. What's up with that? And why wouldn't any of them open for Bloomday?

My Bougainvillea fairy-god-father visited again this year and brought me two plants. The pink one...

I love the green balls of Dianthus barbatus 'Green Trick', especially because Anna gifted me this plant after we lost Lila. She wrote "When in bloom, it’ll be round, cute and furry - just like Lila" how sweet is that? Makes me get teary-eyed and smile at the same time.

All the Echium russicum spires sort of tipped over after last weekend's rain. I thought this one looked especially good cozied up to the Grevillea x gaudichaudii (which is taking a short bloom break).

The Lomatia tinctoria is covered in flowers this year.

I'm so bummed I missed the first Opuntia basilaris 'Bugsy' bloom. Luckily there looks to be another coming soon.
