Despite the notes I'd left reminding myself to take Bloomday photos I nearly forgot. What a rushed blog post...but I made it!
This photo sums up how rushed I was. I managed to take a pic of Acanthus syriacus flower (my first!) but didn't move on to the Abutilon megapotamicum you can see in the back ground, on the right. I also forgot to photograph my other Acanthus (A. mollis) and didn't take a separate shot of the Persicaria microcephala ‘Red Dragon’on the left (what a sorry excuse for a blogger I am!).
Alchemilla mollis
Oh ya...this is gonna be another alphabetical Bloomday...due to the way the photos loaded and my lack of energy to reorder them. Amsonia hubrichtii...
Bougainvillea × buttiana 'Barbara Karst'
Callistemon sieberi
And a close-up...
Callistemon viridiflorus, the other yellow/green bottlebrush — this one with much larger flowers.
Cerinthe major 'Purpurascens'
Clematis florida var. sieboldiana, I'm not trying to hide the fact this one is still in the nursery pot. My plant in the ground fizzled and I bought a replacement. I was holding off planting it, in case the first one came around, and it is...but slowly, very slowly.
Embothrium coccineum
Epimedium 'Amber Queen'
Eryngium agavifolium
Euphorbia 'Excalibur'
Grevillea australis
Grevillea juniperina ‘Molonglo’
Grevillea rivularis
Kniphofia hirstuta
Lewisia 'Little Raspberry' — funny story — I bought two plants on a clearance table, both marked as 'Little Raspberry'. This one is a little more to the purple side of things and the other is a hot pink. So hot I didn't bother uploading the photo because it hurt my eyes to even look at it (the photo, not the plant).
See those orange dots just above that blue-ish Agave on the left? Those are blooms on my Delosperma 'Jewel of Desert Topaz', they've been blooming their little heads off and I forgot to honor their efforts with a photograph! The white flowers are Lomatia tinctoria.
Nicotiana 'Hot Chocolate'— there were 2 plants growing together in the 4" container I bought — I'll call the lighter one 'Hot Chocolate with Milk'.
Parahebe perfoliata
Paris polyphylla - Heronswood form
Persicaria 'Purple Majesty'
Rhododendron sinogrande — I know, that's not a bloom. But up until today I really thought it was going to be, which would be a first. But nope, just more foliage.
Rodgersia 'Bronze Peacock', so hard to photograph well. It's about 3ft tall and towers over the plant, which is to the right.
Finally, the first flowers on my Santolina chamaecyparissus 'Lemon Queen'. I thought I wouldn't care for these but they're actually quite cute.
